Green Room - Week 19 - Day 1

If you’re like me, you are probably thinking “Who put that there?” and “is it going to explode?”

The answer to the second question is, “Of course it will”. Which is why it doesn’t matter what the first answer is, that’s a matter for the police.

But if you’re not like me – and I urge you not to be – then you are probably excited that the FINALE of LJ IDOL EXHIBIT B is taking place right now! http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/698394.html

You may have even read the goodbye to the 3rd place finisher: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/698199.html

Or maybe like [livejournal.com profile] agirlnamedluna, [livejournal.com profile] cheshire23 and
[livejournal.com profile] oxymoron67

you are busy trying to put together your list of what you would like from the Community Chest. I know I would be! There’s some good stuff in there!

Heck, maybe you are out shopping for my Birthday! In which case, don’t let me keep you…

RUSSIAN TEA COOKIES??? Those sound magical...

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2013-09-26 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
They are yummy, crumbly, buttery cookies with walnuts in them. You'll have to ask [livejournal.com profile] michikatinski for the recipe if you want it - I'm sworn to secrecy! ;)

[identity profile] michikatinski.livejournal.com 2013-09-27 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you, sir! :)

[identity profile] favoritebean.livejournal.com 2013-09-26 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds yummy. I'm allergic to walnuts though. :(

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2013-09-27 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
I'll bet you could make them with pecans!

[identity profile] kathrynrose.livejournal.com 2013-09-27 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
You can.

Those are my favorite cookies. :)

[identity profile] favoritebean.livejournal.com 2013-09-27 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
How about almonds? I'm not allergic to almonds.

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2013-09-27 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Probably. I've never tried making them with any other nuts (not even my husband)!

[identity profile] michikatinski.livejournal.com 2013-09-27 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmmm.

Chopped almonds? I don't know if I've ever seen chopped almonds, actually.

I suppose you could do almond slivers. It would make the cookies taste a little more like halvah, I suppose. Which I love. :-D

[identity profile] favoritebean.livejournal.com 2013-09-30 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Halvah is always yummy. :)

Say, mind if I friend you? I meant to ask several weeks ago.

[identity profile] michikatinski.livejournal.com 2013-09-30 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
I don't mind at all. :) <3

[identity profile] michikatinski.livejournal.com 2013-09-27 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Pecans make them quite a bit like Pecan Sandies, which I also love. :-D

[identity profile] michikatinski.livejournal.com 2013-09-27 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you for abiding by the secrecy, my friend. :-D As I was telling another LJer before, there are many good recipes for Russian Tea Cookies on allrecipes.com for those who want to try their hand at them. If anyone wants my cookies, my public LJ shows a way to get some. Just sayin. ;)

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2013-09-27 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
You're welcome! Everyone at work loved them, just so you know. :) I'm taking the rest of the batch to [livejournal.com profile] minikin's tonight, for her birthday / tea party / slumber party, as well as a batch of jam-filled thumbprint cookies that I made last night. Yumm!

[identity profile] michikatinski.livejournal.com 2013-09-27 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
birthday/tea/slumber party? You do the coolest things. :-D

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2013-09-27 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it was her birthday on Wednesday (the 25th), and we went out for dinner that night and exchanged gifts, but she wanted to do a tea party with a larger amount of attendees tonight (Friday), complete with finger sandwiches, cookies, a variety of teas, scones and clotted cream, etc. There will also be games, movies, and a sleepover involved, as she has a large house with many bedrooms.

I have cool friends and I'm lucky I get to do cool things with them!
