I really really would have liked to as you say take advantage of being read in a nice short poll, but I just so didn't have time -- I probably _should_ have worked on the magazine instead of writing the entry last week and now I just didn't have a minute. Believe me it wasn't a strategic decision with the bye I had no choice!

But yeah I was surprised you could use a bye in a runoff, Gary had written something somewhere recently that tipped me off to this surprising fact.
