I won't lie. I'm a little stressed right now.
Hurricane Milton is projected to increase to a category 4, and is (as of this writing) aimed directly to the south of us. It WAS projected to be coming right for us.
There are some people saying that it will possibly get up to a 5 out in the Gulf, but will decrease before making landfall. Others are saying it will decrease to a 3 and be a 2 before making landfall.
Obviously, any category of hurricane is bad news. But for those who don't follow such things, a tropical storm is a severe storm. A cat 1 is a severe tropical storm. A cat 2 is bad. Cat 3 is worse... Cat 4 and 5 are OMG this is the end.
Google Hurricane Andrew for a 5 when it made landfall. In comparison, since this is a famous one, Katrina was a 5 in the Gulf but slowed down to 3 before it hit. But there the actual hurricane winds weren't the biggest problem, it was the levees that end up breaking which led to massive flooding.
Had it been a 5 though... *shudders*
So that's what has been on my mind. Well, that and Jen.... well, OK, let's be honest... that, Jen and playing Zelda to distract myself from those two things.
What has been on YOUR mind lately - other than the state AI? Oh, and of course the poll: therealljidol.dreamwidth.org/1167166.html
