How has your weekend been going so far?

I was in the breakroom at lunch on Friday when I see my boss come in looking for me. She let me know that I had dropped my badge, and it had been placed on my chair. She just didn't want me to leave the building without realizing that the badge had fallen out of the holder and not be able to get back in. I had been warned that this wasn't uncommon for the "side badge holders" and you just needed to keep an eye on it. And I had been... apparently right up until I didn't.

I thought that was really nice of her, went back to my desk after lunch and grabbed my badge. Then we found one of the top loading pouches, which are more secure and now I have a better way of displaying my badge.

None of this is very interesting. But the punchline is that later I found out that the person who found my badge *wasn't* my boss. It was HERS. The guy who initially didn't want to hire me. :O (He's fine with me now... or at least he was until I became the clueless guy who goes around dropping his access badge. I haven't ran into him since then, apparently he was cool about it. But now I have that in my head! :D

(Like I said though, apparently this is something that happens with those types of badge holders. No idea why they still issue them instead of the better ones. Unless it's all an elaborate hazing ritual. :D)

I am still working on the "20th anniversary" casting list. I need to go back through and officially add more recent players. Right now it's at a couple hundred potential invites. So clearly I'm going to have to cull that quite a bit. On the other hand, I'm sure there will be enough "No"s (being too busy/just not interested) that the list could just cull itself. :D

It does have me wondering though if there are names that are SO obvious that should get invites, that if the majority of them say "No" that I should just move on to some other idea. (Note: I'm sure I can get a few of them back for a special event. but I know for a fact that I can't get them all. And yes, there are a few of these names who are probably reading this right now. :D)

Also, I know that one of the "cons" that were mentioned of doing something like this is that it would sour anyone who wasn't invited. That Idol has always been extremely inclusive, and this, by nature, is fairly exclusive. Thoughts?

(I literally just thought of "Legends vs General Admission" where people not selected are on another tribe and face off... heh, probably not, and that definitely wouldn't be the name. But it's a random funny (to me) thought...

Welp. I think you know me well enough by now to know that I loathe exclusivity and inclusivity and how hurtful it is to others. I think it's a horrid idea and never see the point when this sort of thing is pitched. It is premised off a belief that those who aren't invited want to observe???

I hadn't thought of it like that though I figured out right away I wouldn't be included I thought I'd pop in to cheer on my buds. As a relative newbie (9 years don't know how many seasons)

I know I'm neither a legend nor whatever the other was.

When you put it like that, it puts an entirely new slant on it.

I'm not going to say that the point is "one last hurrah as nod to the 20 years of Idol" but I'm also not going to say that idea isn't heavy on my mind that I can't see getting to 25. That's "what's the point of it" is kind of what I've been playing with, being that the whole thing would just be me giving myself an excuse to invite some old friends to play in the sandbox one more time with some of my new friends. :)

It's a couple years off from now either way. Just something I'm throwing around as something to motivate myself to get there.

Seriously though, I do appreciate the feedback. It helps me think of things from a new perspective. (that doesn't mean I'm going to listen to it. :D But it does help me in the process of figuring out what it is I want to do. )

My weekend has just been pretty meh so far honestly. I’m glad I got my entry in when I did because yesterday and today has me feeling depressed again, and most of my byes were used for similar reasons. So yeah, glad I didn’t bye out, but I’m struggling a bit to read and reply to comments.

That being said, I like my entry. Writing it was the highlight of the last few days.

Mostly I can handle the "down" times, but this past year and a bit, not so much. I empathize. Depression is a pain in the...everything.

Normally I can handle downtimes a bit better too, but the last few years have been difficult, and the last few months after losing Dexter, even more so. I know I’ll pull myself out of it eventually.

My weekend has been uneventful. I’m working on my entry, and hope to get it done tonight or tomorrow. I’m currently eating cheese tortellini with garlicky pink sauce (a mix of red sauce and Alfredo sauce, technically it’s just a lighter orange, but red + white = pink).

My weekend has been... strange.
We had Korean BBQ Friday night so a lot of the day was reacting to that.
I did cleaning of a bookcase but only I could tell.
Watched a ton of wrestling.
About a half hour or so ago I found a dear online friend passed away, so now I'm out of sorts trying to figure out my evening.
I can't go to sleep cause the marijuana I've taken keeps you awake.
