I hope you enjoy reading it, I'm running out of time today, so have to get thinking about the next LJ Idol challenge, in the hopes that I might actually survive the write-off and get to post an entry with the Final Five.

Date: 2024-12-02 02:52 pm (UTC)Wabisabi reminds me of the Japanese practice of when you break something like a plate, you piece it back together with gold leaf paint so the break becomes an integal part of the plate. Or, you can look at the plate as being an entirely new plate because of the break. It's to remind you that nothing is permanent, and there is a beauty in that.
BTW, Easter is late next year -- not until April. That means Ash Wednesday is in March instead of February. We do pazcki (Polish donuts) the 40 days before Lent. They are an utter PITA. I'm going to crawl under a rock.

Date: 2024-12-05 09:30 pm (UTC)Black Friday we drove to Nashville for our niece's hockey tournament. It was the first time we saw her play in person so that was fun. :)
I'm currently waiting for the doctor to call with results of my mom's ultrasound which she had on Tuesday. It shouldn't take two days to get an ultrasound read.
