They say, "Gary, why now? Isn't everyone in the world focused on the trainwreck we are calling the US Presidential election?"
and I say, "Yes. Which means that something with EVEN HIGHER stakes is needed! Something that truly matters - like who will be the next LJ Idol!"
People ask, "Kill kill kill"
and I say 'SHUT UP VOICES IN MY HEAD!!! NOT TODAY! NO. NOT TODAY... well, OK, maybe today... BUT NOT TOMORROW!!"

Today's her birthday :) And maybe we'll hear when she's getting moved to the home that is literally only up the road from me (15 houses away!), rather than all the way over the other side of town like she is now, so I will be able to visit her more often.
My anxiety is currently sky high, but I'm able to recognise it an be like, "ok, I have sky high anxiety and I feel in desperate need of some tlc, but it is only anxiety, I'll live" kinda thing. So yay.
Other than that, y'know, still alive and stuff so it's all good.

PS. Does anyone know how to tell if a pineapple is ripe before I cut into it, please?

I was hoping to grill or roast chunks of the pineapple and have it with rice pudding -- yum yum! But it's not ripe yet. Maybe by the weekend.

I moved into a new house in a new town with the Sam creature at the end of June, got a new job at the end of May, and celebrated my cat's 19th birthday in August! Got an ADD diagnosis and a dermatillomania diagnosis, but the ADD meds fixed my PTSD, and they help my ADD symptoms. All hail Dexedrine!
On the path to starting a small gluten free, allergen-accommodating baking and prepared foods business. Going to attempt to use the holiday season to bake All the Things and get feedback and practice and a regular rotation of goodies that I can sell at farmers markets next year. Goals! You gotta have 'em. Hope everyone else has been well too!

Date: 2016-11-01 02:21 pm (UTC)Life is interesting and complex. I'm 4 weeks out from surgery to repair my ankle. It's healing up well just much more slowly than I would like. We are getting estimates to repair water damage to our house which happened just before Hurricane Matthew came past NC and created lots of jobs for contractors.
Today I have a routine doctor appointment and then an appointment to test drive a car (well I get to test ride a car). Then I need to knit as much as possible because I have a blanket I'm trying to finish before this weekend.
