Green Room - Sign Up Week - Weekend Edition

Good morn... afternoon!

How are you doing? Getting ready for the topic tomorrow?

Again, I have to remind everyone that it's a "slow start"/"soft open" situation. People who know me can probably already feel my nervous energy about wanting to get a running start. But I'm taking a suggestion for a couple contestants from last season, and we'll see how that goes. :)

Hey, I'm all for the slow start. My preferred time would be after Xmas, actually. Worst possible season to add more work onto!

Hi. It's been a slow day. I had all good intentions of being productive today but that's not happening. Oh well. My husband made a fabulous cranberry coffee cake and I just ate some of that. Want some? We'll go down to the concert at the museum tonight. Yay for an extra hour of sleep!

Cranberry coffee cake sounds soooooooo good! LOL!

If by "getting ready for the topic tomorrow", you mean "catching up on all the dishes I haven't been able to do because our dishwasher is busted", then yes, I'm absolutely ready.

Somehow I don't think that's what you mean, though I'm definitely miserable. :P

Doing dishes by hand is one of the chores I don't mind doing. We don't have a dishwasher and I really don't care.

I'm not sure how you get ready for the new topic. Not sharpening pencils. Not stacking fresh clean notebooks.

Additional information - I just realized that video is almost entirely visual. Basically, a finger flexibility expert (because apparently that's a thing) is on Johnny Carson's show, and does a routine with his fingers that looks like a dance. It's cooler than it sounds.

Okay seriously why do so many people go to the bank on Saturday? Especially like, between 12-3pm? IT'S STILL NICE OUTSIDE, PEOPLE. GO ENJOY IT. STOP COMING TO MY BRANCHHHH....

We close at 3pm and I was STILL HELPING CUSTOMERS at 327. What is life. Why are you people piling into my drive thru lanes. Why do you beg when I tell you sorry we're closed! *pulls out hair*

I was afternoon napping and had a dream that 1000 people signed up for Season 10. o.O I had to check the sign-ups. Not quite there . . .

Not sure if that's my dream or nightmare. :)

Looks like Season 10 is going to be smaller than the last couple. I blame Livejournal in general for that. But I've been trying to be more proactive about going out and trying to find some cool and interesting folks who I think would be a good fit. But word of mouth is always the best way.

I just scrolled back through the sign up sheet (hadn't in a couple of days) and I'm pretty stoked at the number of newbies (great idea having people declare that) and the number of OLD and I mean OLD timers coming back.

It's also a good time to remind people to check your comment settings. If you don't allow comments from people who aren't on your friends list, you will miss out on the love people want to show your entries.

(Also, another bot like half an hour ago? This is making me nuts. -er than usual.)

Yeah, that's been extremely awesome to see Idol-past and Idol-future meeting up! :)

It's one of the advantages of having a decade of history, that you can tap into it and see people's personal growth as the years have passed.

Me too. Nervous, excited, and I don't know what to expect. :)

Because I can plan everything out, but until you folks start writing, and interacting with each other over a period of time, I have no idea how well it's going to go.

Btw if anyone cares I had an awesome Saturday. I got a late start but went to Comics Arts show. I walked away with only two comics by my friend Mike Dawson and shirt with art by Dame Darcy but it was great. Then I went down the block just to look around and my friend Garrison was pulling into a spot in his van so I spent the rest of the day with him helping take down a group show I'm in that got cancelled early for reasons beyond any of our control.

Working my schedule does not make me the best company after dinnertime. My poor husband. That's all I'm going to say, LOL.

The new topic and Work Room are up.

I was very productive yesterday. I did four loads of laundry, two loads of dishes (curse the broken dishwasher!), and went grocery shopping. Yay adulting!

And today...I'm working. No rest for the weary.

I'm feeling the same way a lot of you folks are - nervous and excited. More excited than nervous, but the nerves are still there.

I've been kind of depressed the last day or so since my quite elderly mother decided she was not up for the six day trip to Yosemite valley we have been planning. So, it is rather a refreshing pleasure to see all your faces in the green room again. Thanks to all of you just for being you and pouring your hearts and guts out season after season. And the newbies: get ready for the idol experience. Five zillion go in, one floats out.

I think I need a caffeine intravenous. Help. (Repeatedly headdesking.)
