Did you read the story from Africa about Lawrence Anthony, the conservationist who studied a certain herd of elephants for years and, when he died, they all walked miles to his home and mourned him in his yard for days before returning to their grazing lands? They knew he was gone and wanted to pay their respects. Amazing!

I think I'm the only person in the world who actually likes Mondays. It's the start of a fresh week, the beginning, when everything you do shapes the days to follow it.

So go out and wish people a happy Monday. Shape their week, and yours, into something fantastic!

So glad to be able to pop into the GR again. Hoping I will get into a daily routine with this, though I won't always be this early. Last season I was notoriously late to the party, but at least I got to interact a little.

We are still attempting to adjust to DST, which was made easier because the kids do not have school today and I'm not in court. I do, however, have to register my son for kindergarten through our school district today, which is making me feel terribly old.

I'm also feeling physically off today, but hoping the aches and pains will cede, because I'm in no mood for being sick!

I am strangely chipper for having being up all night. :D I expect that I'll crash here in a minute, which is bad because I have an appointment I need to be at. Yay me.

Supposedly, I'm reading an LJI piece I wrote last year for the sentencing hearing of the guy who killed my best friend in a car crash. Here's to hoping I don't make myself cry...

Good evening People ..... My Monday is almost over and I am left wondering If I have put it to good use. The thing I did manage though was getting my introduction in. I totally relate to all of your experiences on that. My writing is a little rusty with the lack of effort and practice. And more than anything I am still struggling to et a hold of things around here ... he how's and where's, what's and when's of everything. Sigh !!!!

It will surprise nobody who knows me that I have an elephant icon, right? :)

Also, I am just SO EXCITED for this season to start!!

Additionally, I hate Daylight Savings Time, it screws with my already screwy sleep schedule. But on the plus side, I made a delicious loaf of banana bread last night, which I brought to work to share this morning, and currently I am the only one on my team in the office!! Ah well... they'll get here eventually.

I still haven't written my introduction, which should surprise no one who knows me even the tiniest bit. But I don't have to be at work until 3:00 today, so I still have about five hours. (Which does not actually sound like a lot of time once I type it out.)

I feel like I could sleep for a week, but I can't really blame DST, because I feel that way most of the time because of my screwy inconsistent work schedule. But having to be at work at 5am yesterday morning after the clocks went forward didn't help. At all.

I keep telling myself that I need to get started on something for my capstone project. I just don't know where to start so I'm doing nothing instead. It isn't a thesis paper but a whole bunch of different pieces that actually rely on other people. Today, I think my goal is to come up with a plan of attack. Maybe a list of every single little thing I have to do will serve as a motivator to stop procrastinating.

Either that, or I'll watch my latest Netflix DVD (Peter's Friends).

Oh yeah, I also have an Idol question - are people making their own spreadsheets or lists as they read the introductions? I read about 3 pages of entries and then realized there would a whole lot more but I wasn't keeping track and so I would basically have to go back and look at them all over again. For now, I've stopped reading because I'm waiting for the experts to create the magical Idol spreadsheet.
